State Duma head says Russia must restrict US imports
MOSCOW, Apr 11 (PRIME) -- Russia must mirror the new U.S. sanctions in retaliation to restrict U.S. imports, Vyacheslav Volodin, speaker of the State Duma, parliament’s lower chamber, said on Wednesday, answering to an address by the prime minister.
“It’s time we respond to the rude behavior by the U.S., to the unmasked lobbyism of the U.S. interests, to creation of obstacles to operations of the Russian business,” Volodin said.
“And in this context, dear colleagues, (Prime Minister) Dmitry Anatolyevich (Medvedev), representatives of all factions in the State Duma, it would be right to take mirror-like measures to products imported by the U.S. To do the same to them as they did to our goods producers.”
Russia must support domestic companies in conditions of external pressure, Volodin said.
